From the Church Host Chronicle

The roots of the church landlord date back to the year 1400, at that time still managed as a courtable estate. In 1909, the house came into the possession of the Rettenbacher family, who finally laid the foundation stone for the present accommodation business. August & Cäcilia took care of a number of reconstructions in later years and led the church host to an international reputation. Christian Rettenbacher has been running the company since 2001.
